As part of Corona’s “This Is Living” platform, Zakes was among the 2 million attendees at the historic Todo Mundo No Rio festival featuring Shakira, which celebrated the intersection of music, nature, and shared global rhythms.

Global superstar Shakira headlined a landmark edition of Todo Mundo No Rio this weekend, drawing more than 2 million people to Copacabana Beach for one of the world’s biggest beach celebrations – with South African artist Zakes Bantwini among those in attendance.

As a guest of Corona, Zakes experienced the festival both on and beyond the sand, forming part of a wider journey through Rio that saw him immersed in the city’s rhythm, culture and natural beauty as part of the brand’s This is Living platform.

Zakes’ experience unfolded across some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including a climb up Sugarloaf Mountain for a golden hour moment, taking in panoramic views of Guanabara Bay as the sun set over the city. The journey continued to the Corcovado Mountain, where the presence of Christ the Redeemer and the stillness of the rainforest offered space for reflection. Zakes also visited the famous Selaron Steps, covered in over 2000 vibrant tiles, created by artist Jorge Selaron as tribute to Brazil.

Framed by the scale and atmosphere of the festival, the experience highlighted the universal language of music, where environment, culture and creativity intersect. Last year’s event made history, earning the Guinness World Record for the largest beach concert ever headlined by a female artist – a legacy that continued to build on Copacabana this year.

Corona extended the experience across the city, from its backstage lounge and beachside celebrations to a curated hospitality programme at the iconic Copacabana Palace, where guests gathered for sunset-led moments ahead of the main event.

This year, Corona invited the world to experience this feeling firsthand – and on May 2, two million answered that call. While the sun has set on Todo Mundo No Rio 2026, the brand is already looking ahead to the next chapter.
