The countdown to the 32nd South African Music Awards (SAMA32) has officially entered an exciting new chapter, with the announcement of two dynamic personalities who will take centre stage as hosts of this year’s highly anticipated ceremony.
Multi-award-winning rap icon Cassper Nyovest and celebrated media personality Zanele Potelwa have been confirmed as the hosts of SAMA32, which is set to take place on 15 August 2026 at the iconic Sun City Superbowl in the North West Province.
Themed the “Homecoming Edition”, SAMA32 promises to be a landmark celebration of South African music, bringing together the country’s biggest stars, industry leaders and music lovers for an evening dedicated to recognising the talent shaping the nation’s sound and cultural identity.
Welcoming the announcement, SAMA spokesperson Unati Gwija said Cassper Nyovest was the perfect choice to usher in the Homecoming Edition, given his deep connection to the North West, while Zanele Potelwa embodies the spirit of the theme, “The Future Sounds Like Now Now.”
The pairing of Cassper and Zanele brings together two influential voices from different corners of South Africa’s entertainment landscape. With Cassper’s larger-than-life stage presence and Zanele’s experience, charisma and ability to connect with audiences, the duo is expected to deliver a ceremony filled with glamour, humour, memorable moments and world-class entertainment.
For Cassper Nyovest, returning to the SAMAs in such a significant role is both a homecoming and a personal milestone.
“I’m very excited to be going home and reuniting with the SAMAs in such an incredible way. It’s an honour to follow in the footsteps of legends like HHP and Kabelo Mabalane (Bouga Luv), who have also hosted the SAMAs,” he said.
The rapper added that he is looking forward to sharing the stage with Potelwa and bringing his own energy to the ceremony.
“I’m also really looking forward to working with Zanele Potelwa. I look forward to learning from her while also bringing my own energy and vibe to the stage. Together, I think we’re going to create the kind of hosting experience people will remember for years to come.”
For Potelwa, the opportunity represents the realisation of a long-held dream and another defining moment in an already impressive broadcasting career.
“It feels UNBELIEVABLE!!! All Glory to Jesus Christ, my heart is pumping custard because this is a dream come true!! All those interviews meant everything to me and I’m so grateful for them and to every person that was part of them and the fact that it truly was all leading to this moment?
