“Journey to the South” presents a straightforward narrative that, while lacking element of surprise, showcases a compelling production. The play’s resemblance to a previous work by the director, reminiscent of his university project, adds a layer of familiarity. Although the transitions between scenes felt prolonged and left some actors appearing uncertain, the overall production stands out. The stage design is diverse and captivating, and the character development is well-executed, making the play an engaging watch despite its few shortcomings.
